60m2 of Synthetic Putting Green Added to Essex Garden…

On Tuesday 1st September 2015, the European Golf Installation Team began work on 60 square metres of existing grass, in order to renovate a standard family lawn, into a next generation, synthetic putting green!

Due to the garden consisting of mostly real turf, we dug out the area of grass where the putting green would be installed. After levelling over 10 tonne of base aggregate, we then applied the essential weed membrane in order to stop any weeds emerging through the turf in the future.

One Install Leads to Another in Kings Hill!

The beginning of the month saw another happy customer receiving their very own, personalised golf green, for home use only. In advance, our team had recently installed an indoor putting studio for the Quintic System (putting analysis software), for the Robert Rock Golf Academy, supported by Kings Hill Golf Club in Kent. After completing the studio putting green, we were then approached by the Kings Hill Golf Club member, who was so fascinated by the high quality finish of our install, that he required his own green for personal use at his family home in West Malling. The green has a total area of 50 square metres, which is now a ready to putt, realistic green for all of the family to practice on, in the comfort of their own garden. We used our two most popular synthetic golf grass products, our Tour Pro Ultimate (TPU) and Tour Pro Fringe (TPF). The TPU surface is best optimised with our Fringe, and is adaptable to both accomplished and amateur players. We have dealt with many of the most talented golfers in the world, and many believe that the TPU is the ultimate way to fine-tune your short game technique. “I’m over the moon with the way the team worked to transform my garden into a personal practice facility. I can’t keep my kids off the green! I had high expectations, yet the team completely exceeded them. Thanks again, Rob” image3 image2

Cottingham Parks Golf Club get new short game green

Cottingham Parks Golf Club Gets New Short Game Facility

Cottingham Parks is one of our more recent artificial green installs, set in over 200 acres of mature parkland, welcoming a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. In 2011, Cottingham Parks was featured on Sky Sports TV for the Charity Pro-Am. For the install we created a 220m2 short game facility, with nine circular tee stations for golf lessons, along with two bunkers, one being deep faced and the other a pot bunker.

Four different pin positions were used to improve chipping accuracy. The juniors who practice at their local driving range, ‘One Stop Golf’, also has a short game facility, which then brought the facility to the owner’s attention.

The short game facility runs along with the recently refurbished driving range. The construction took a total of eight days, we used a ‘Tour Pro Infill’, which has a 33mm pile height, and a shock-pad underneath the grass. We filled the grass with silica-graded sand, which was then top-dressed to finish.

For the fringe we used our 36mm tour product, and for the tee line we used three different grass products to replicate the different types of lye you would usually find on a natural golf course.

Geoff Boycott from hitting it for 6 to Putting…

Cricketing legend and ex England Captain Geoff Boycott has recently enlisted the expertise from European Golf to resurface and create a putting green which would rival the greens of Royal St George!

In a little under a week the team transformed the space into a golfers dream, with 5 putting holes and some banks to help create a realistic and testing putting environment to help build both accuracy and skill.

Just like in his cricketing days hours of practice makes perfect and to be able to sink a putt every time takes hours of practice!

The 80m2 Green is the perfect place to hone his ability’s and as it’s at his home Geoff will be able to develop those skills whenever he gets the need and no matter what the weather throws at the green it will always be the perfect place to practice!

The green is a mix of both tour putt ultimate and tour pro fringe both specially developed to create the ultimate putting green!

It’s great being able to simply step outside the house to practise my game,” commented Geoffrey.

I travel a great deal in my job and when I am at home, I like to stay at home and not be sitting in a car driving to the golf club or the range to practise. Having a putting green and a driving net in the garden means that I can get in a bit of fresh air and golf practice whenever I want.

Hexham Golf Club Construct Brand New Practice Facility

Hexham Golf Club is a traditional parkland course on fast draining land on the south side of the River Tyne, with stunning views over the convergence of the North and South Tyne countryside. Hexham Golf Club recently constructed a brand new practice facility; they have built the facility inside a listed walls compound on their golf course, creating a tranquil area to practice golf.

Inside of the walls features different types of surfaces and practice facilities, including one large, real green, 150m2 worth of synthetic infill target green (installed by European Golf), four 2m x 4m tee stations enclosed with wooden sleepers, and four large bunkers. The green has six holes with four different tee stations all ranging in distances from 20 yards to 120 yards.

European Golf used their 33mm pile height ‘Tour Pro Infill’ product, with a cushion underlay, which was contoured to the client’s specification. We then installed the silica-graded sand, which is then top-dressed with green coloured sand to finish. The green is then rolled to the speed that the golf club requires so that it is realistic to the green speed on the course. The total time for the install was six days, and the rest of the facility is now in preparation and scheduled to be open for next year.
