Cottingham Parks Golf Club Gets New Short Game Facility
Cottingham Parks is one of our more recent artificial green installs, set in over 200 acres of mature parkland, welcoming a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. In 2011, Cottingham Parks was featured on Sky Sports TV for the Charity Pro-Am. For the install we created a 220m2 short game facility, with nine circular tee stations for golf lessons, along with two bunkers, one being deep faced and the other a pot bunker.
Four different pin positions were used to improve chipping accuracy. The juniors who practice at their local driving range, ‘One Stop Golf’, also has a short game facility, which then brought the facility to the owner’s attention.
The short game facility runs along with the recently refurbished driving range. The construction took a total of eight days, we used a ‘Tour Pro Infill’, which has a 33mm pile height, and a shock-pad underneath the grass. We filled the grass with silica-graded sand, which was then top-dressed to finish.
For the fringe we used our 36mm tour product, and for the tee line we used three different grass products to replicate the different types of lye you would usually find on a natural golf course.
